Summer Garden Party
About
À propos de l'événement
In the soft light of June, as summer gathers its breath, we invite you to a garden party that marks the opening note of our three-day music festival in July. This celebration of garden, landscape and community is both a welcome return and a new beginning. For many years we have been proud to open our gardens under the auspices of the National Gardens Scheme. This year, the occasion carries a special purpose: all proceeds will go towards the urgent roof repairs of the iconic St Juthware's Parish Church in Halstock, a place whose stones and stories are woven deeply into the life of our village. Our two-acre garden is a tapestry of colour and movement, where strong structural planting rubs shoulders with a freer, wilder spirit. Borders sway and surprise, paths invite wandering, and every turn reveals a new harmony of form and texture. Beyond the garden, visitors are welcome to stroll through our meadows, circle the lake, and pause awhile to watch water birds skimming and settling on the surface of the water. A shaded walk leads into the woods, where wild orchids bloom in the meadow beyond, quietly spectacular and fleeting. This is a place to linger, to look closely, and to enjoy the slower rhythms of an early summer afternoon. Tea and homemade cake will be served, offering the perfect excuse to sit, talk, and take it all in. We hope you will join us for this gentle curtain-raiser — a celebration of garden, generosity and shared enjoyment — as we look ahead to the music-filled days of July.
