Tree of Strings Festival: Stars of Tomorrow
About
À propos de l'événement
Tree of Strings is a brand-new music festival for Dorset. Join us for a packed weekend of world-class music performed by artists from around the globe. The programme spans genres, continents and centuries - from classical chamber music to jazz, folk and contemporary collaborations. This is the first chance to hear some of our featured young artists. Hugo Svedberg came to attention in the televised round of BBC Young Musician in 2024 and has since dazzled audiences in his home county of Dorset and further afield. The 18-year-old made his debut last year as soloist with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra playing Tchaikovsky's 'Rococo' variations. The London-based Elmore Quartet formed in Manchester in 2017 and are embarking on a career fuelled by prizes at prestigious competitions and performances at venues including Wigmore Hall. They are the first resident string quartet at Penzance MusicAbility Foundation in west Cornwall, which enables them to pursue their passion for sharing classical music with new audiences and to perform regularly in the many wonderful venues in the area. The programme includes two exciting new works by young composers alongside Bach's famous G Major Cello Suite and Ravel's ravishing String Quartet. Programme Johann Sebastian Bach – G Major Suite for solo cello Dani Howard – 'Add Oil' for solo cello Leo Geyer – 'Unfurling' for string quartet Maurice Ravel – String Quartet
