Meet the makers
Anvil Forge
Jewellery
I hand-forge everyday pieces in brass and silver with a hammered finish that catches the light.
Bench Workshop
Woodwork
I make chopping boards and kitchen tools using offcuts from a joinery in Brentford. No varnish, no lacquer, nothing you would not eat off.
Bias Cloth
Clothing
I make children’s clothes from deadstock cotton in sizes 6 to 24 because that is the whole point.
Bramble Field
Preserves & pantry
I make small-batch chutneys and jams from fruit gleaned around Bucks that would otherwise go to waste. Metal lids and glass, nothing plastic anywhere in the packaging.
Copper Pan
Streetfood
We cook Sri Lankan hoppers to order using British free-range meat and vegetables from our own allotment. We stopped using anything plastic in 2019 and have not looked back.
Little Table
Bakery & cakes
I make Polish babka and cinnamon buns in small batches, in my own kitchen, licensed and inspected. I sell out by one most weeks, which I take as the point.
Orchard Store
Preserves & pantry
I preserve whatever the orchards give me using surplus from farms within twenty miles.
Pasture & Co
Cheese & charcuterie
We age farmhouse cheddar on the farm in a cave under the barn, which sounds grander than it is. Tasting is compulsory, buying is not.
Salvage Line
Clothing
I upcycle wool coats and jackets with the original labels kept in as a record. Everything goes home in a paper bag or your own.
The Basket House
Homewares
I weave willow baskets from willow I grow and cut on a Thames-side bed. Everything here replaces something that would have been plastic.
The Home Field
Homewares
I weave willow baskets from willow I grow and cut on a Thames-side bed.
The Roam Pan
Streetfood
We cook Georgian khachapuri fresh on the griddle with cheese from a dairy eleven miles from the market. Our meat is British free-range organic and we are happy to be asked about it.
The Thames Harbour
Ceramics
I hand-build slab vessels finished with ash glazes I mix myself.
Wick Company
Candles & home fragrance
I pour rapeseed wax candles by hand in returnable glass, with a cotton wick and nothing synthetic. The seconds shelf is candles with a wonky top and a full burn time.
