Meet the makers

  • Big Fire

    Street food

I run a Polish street food kitchen — pierogi and bigos from my mum’s recipes, adapted for a queue.

    website@bigfire

  • Bothy Bakehouse

    Bakery & cakes

I bake Scottish oven scones, empire biscuits and tablet-topped brownies in small batches from a converted garage kitchen. I take pre-orders through Facebook and hand them over at the stall.

    website@bothybakehouse

  • Bothy Beer Co

    Craft beer & cider

I make a low-alcohol range and a hazy IPA with Scottish-grown barley wherever I can get it. Mixed cases are the easiest way to try the range.

    website@bothybeerco

  • Glasshouse Plants

    Plants & flowers

I grow British cut flowers suited to actual west-of-Scotland weather. Everything’s grown, not bought in.

    website@glasshouseplants

  • Heather Larder

    Bakery & cakes

I bake Scottish oven scones, empire biscuits and tablet-topped brownies fresh the morning of the market, never the night before. The empire biscuits go first, every single time.

  • Loch Fyne Catch

    Fish & seafood

I sell fresh fish straight off the Kintyre boats landed at Tarbert the day before the market.

    website@lochfynecatch

  • Muirhead & Game

    Butcher & game

I make square sausage, black pudding and haggis to a family recipe that predates the shop.

  • Press Illustration

    Art & prints

I cut and print lino by hand in two or three colours, printed in my kitchen. Originals on the back wall of the stall.

    website@pressillustration

  • Press Press

    Art & prints

I make screen prints of Glasgow buildings and print them on heavy cotton paper.

    website@presspress

  • Rowan Scotland

    Soap & skincare

I make cold-process soap scented with essential oils only. I list the full ingredients on every wrapper.

    website@rowanbathco

  • Rowan Table

    Bakery & cakes

I bake Scottish oven scones, empire biscuits and tablet-topped brownies using flour milled in Fife and a 24-hour ferment. Gluten-free options on the middle table — clearly labelled and made separately.

    website@rowantable

  • Skerry Prints

    Art & prints

I cut and print lino by hand in editions of fifty, signed and numbered. Commissions of your own bit of coast are the popular one.

    website@skerryprints

  • Wee Kitchen

    Bakery & cakes

I bake Scottish oven scones, empire biscuits and tablet-topped brownies fresh the morning of the market, never the night before.

    website@weekitchen

  • Whin Croft

    Fruit & veg

I grow chillies, garlic and unusual brassicas under polytunnels I put up myself. Veg boxes made up on the day.
