Meet the makers

  • Argyll Smokehouse

    Fish & seafood

I sell shellfish landed on the west coast landed at Tarbert the day before the market. Ice and a chilled counter, so power matters to me.

    website@argyllsmokehouse

  • Ash Workshop

    Woodwork

I turn bowls and boards from Scottish hardwood from windblown elm, ash and sycamore. Names burned on while you wait.

    website@ashworkshop

  • Bothy at the Market

    Candles & home fragrance

I make candles in salvaged whisky bottles with cotton wicks and a proper cure time.

    website@bothycandleco

  • Braehead & Game

    Butcher & game

I dry-cure bacon and make charcuterie shot within twenty miles and processed the same week. Pre-orders welcome — I bring them boxed with your name on.

    website@braeheadgame

  • Braeside Apiary Co

    Honey & bees

I make mead and sell honey from my own hives never heated, never filtered beyond the coarse strain.

    website@braesideapiaryco

  • Bruntsfield Store

    Preserves & chutneys

I forage and preserve — bramble, elderflower, rowan, rosehip from fruit grown in the Clyde Valley.

    website@bruntsfieldstore

  • Clydeside at the Market

    Cheese & dairy

I sell farmhouse cheese from small Scottish creameries churned twice a week and sold within days. Ask me for a taste of anything — that’s what the counter is for.

  • Grain Workshop

    Woodwork

I turn bowls and boards from Scottish hardwood finished with food-safe oil and nothing else. Nothing here was farmed for the purpose.

    website@grainworkshop

  • Kelpie & Wick

    Candles & home fragrance

I hand-pour candles scented with Scottish botanicals with cotton wicks and a proper cure time.

    website@kelpiewick

  • Kelpie Bakehouse

    Bakery & cakes

I bake sourdough and slow-fermented bread in small batches from a converted garage kitchen. Everything sells out by lunchtime, which I take as a good sign.

    website@kelpiebakehouse

  • Kelpie Press

    Art & prints

I paint Scottish coastline in watercolour from sketches done on the hill, not from photos. Prints come unframed with a backing board and a plastic-free sleeve.

    website@kelpiepress

  • Muirhead & Game

    Butcher & game

I make square sausage, black pudding and haggis to a family recipe that predates the shop. Chilled display and a generator on outdoor pitches.

    website@muirheadgame

  • Orchard & Jar

    Preserves & chutneys

I make Seville marmalade and seasonal jellies with no pectin and no artificial anything.

    website@orchardjar

  • Press Illustration

    Art & prints

I cut and print lino by hand in two or three colours, printed in my kitchen.

    website@pressillustration

  • Rowan Gin

    Gin & whisky

I make small-batch gin with foraged botanicals distilled in a 100-litre copper still in Alloa.

    website@rowangin

  • Skerry Distillers

    Gin & whisky

I make a spiced rum and a coffee liqueur in batches of about 200 bottles at a time.

    website@skerrydistillers

  • Wee Emporium

    Vintage & upcycled

I restore and sell mid-century glassware sized properly, because vintage sizing lies. I take trade-ins at the stall.

    website@weeemporium

  • Whin Preserves

    Preserves & chutneys

I make small-batch jams, jellies and marmalades using whatever the season gives me.
