Ticket forwarding
Can’t make it, or bought for a friend? Forward the ticket rather than sending a screenshot. Forwarding issues your friend a fresh ticket with a new QR code in their name and invalidates yours — so there’s never a race between two copies of the same code at the door.
How to forward a ticket
- Open your order page — the secure link in your confirmation email (see Finding your tickets).
- Choose the ticket you want to forward and select forward this ticket.
- Enter your friend’s name and email address.
- They receive their own email with their own ticket link and QR code. Your copy of that ticket is marked as forwarded and its code stops scanning.
Things worth knowing
- Forwarding is per ticket, not per order — from a family order you can forward just one ticket and keep the rest.
- The order still belongs to you. Refund rights stay with the original purchaser, since the money came from your card. If your friend can’t go either, they can forward it onward or you can request a refund per the event’s policy.
- Wrong email? As long as the new ticket hasn’t been scanned, the current holder can forward it again to the right address.
- Why not just screenshot? A screenshot still works technically — but only one scan of that code gets in, and if the link leaks, whoever scans first wins. Forwarding removes the ambiguity and puts the right name on the door list.
